Gemini EVO dental laser in Ansoáin
At Dental Divina Pastora we use the Gemini EVO laser as an adjunct to other treatments. We first assess your case and explain its proposed purpose, how it fits your plan and which everyday care and follow-up remain important.

What does it involve?
Gemini EVO is a diode laser for the soft tissues of the mouth. It has two wavelengths, 810 and 980 nm, which can be used separately or together. Depending on the accessory and indication, it supports different soft-tissue applications and photobiomodulation procedures. These are different ways of working: treating an area of gum is not the same as applying light for a supportive therapeutic purpose. The choice depends on the diagnosis, tissue and objective; having a laser does not mean it is needed at every appointment.
Care today. Smile tomorrow.
Supportive options within an individual plan
Photobiomodulation for selected indications
Is it right for you?
It may be considered when it has a specific role within your dental treatment. The team assesses your reason for attending, examination, medical history and available alternatives. Some applications concern gum tissues; others may support the management of selected discomfort or care after a procedure. Not every capability of the device is offered at our practice to every patient: we explain what makes sense in your situation.
A plan you can understand.
Listen and assess
We review what you have noticed, when it started and any treatment you are receiving. Tell us about medicines, medical conditions, pregnancy and previous experiences so we can assess suitability.
Explain the laser's role
We define the objective, alternatives and whether laser use is proposed as an adjunct. Before starting you can ask about preparation, expected sensations and the cost of the plan.
Apply and review
When indicated, the appropriate accessory and protective eyewear are used. You then receive instructions for your case, and we agree how to review your progress and the rest of your treatment.
Aftercare and points to consider
Continue the care for your main treatment and follow the instructions we give you after the application. The laser does not replace oral hygiene, reviews or prescribed medication. Do not change medicines yourself. If you experience persistent discomfort, an unexpected reaction or worsening symptoms, contact the practice so we can assess what is happening.
Technology with a purpose within your care
Soft tissues: working on a specific area
Soft-tissue applications may form part of certain procedures involving the gums and oral lining. The clinician decides whether the laser is suitable compared with other instruments and which tissue needs attention. It is not something applied automatically throughout the mouth. Bleeding gums or a persistent lesion first require an assessment of their cause.
What photobiomodulation means
Photobiomodulation, also called PBM, uses light for a therapeutic purpose with dedicated accessories. It differs from using a laser to operate on soft tissues. It may be considered as support in selected situations, for example for temporary relief of certain muscle or joint discomfort. The objective and response are reviewed within the plan, without promising the same effect for everyone.
Complementing gum treatment
When there is a gum problem, periodontal diagnosis and control of its causes come first. If laser use is proposed, it should be clear which part of the plan it supports. It does not automatically replace professional cleaning, indicated periodontal treatment or daily oral hygiene. Reviews allow us to assess the tissues and adapt care using the information from each visit.
Supporting care after a procedure
In selected cases, photobiomodulation may be considered as an adjunct to care following a procedure. The decision depends on the procedure, area and your progress. It does not remove the eating, hygiene, rest or review instructions you have received. Before adding an application, it is helpful to explain the intended purpose and how its usefulness will be reviewed.
Jaw discomfort: start with the cause
Muscle tension and pain around the jaw joint can have different origins. Laser use does not by itself correct tooth grinding or every temporomandibular joint problem. In selected situations it may be considered to support discomfort management alongside the appropriate approach. An examination helps identify what needs attention and which measures should continue.
A plan you can understand
You can ask what changes when laser use is added, which alternatives exist and what would happen without it. We explain the proposed objective and its relationship with your main treatment. The number of applications, intervals and cost are agreed for your case. We want you to make an informed decision, rather than choose a technology only because of its name.

Location, opening hours and contact ↗Questions worth asking
- What would the laser's purpose be within my treatment?
- What alternatives are there and which care should I continue?
- How will the response be reviewed and what does the cost include?
An examination helps clarify the options, stages and cost estimate for your case.
Your questions,

Information to help you feel more at ease before your appointment.
01Does the laser replace the treatment I already need?
We use it as an adjunct when indicated. It does not by itself replace diagnosis, treatment of the underlying cause, or the care and reviews your mouth needs.
02Are photobiomodulation and laser surgery the same?
No. They have different purposes and methods of application. The accessory and operating mode are selected for the procedure. We explain the proposed use before starting.
03Can it be used for every dental problem?
No. Gemini EVO is a soft-tissue laser with specific applications. It is not intended to cut enamel, dentine or bone, and having an oral health problem does not automatically make laser treatment appropriate.
04Does it always avoid the need for anaesthesia?
No. The need for anaesthesia depends on the procedure and your situation. Sensations during application can also vary. We explain what may be needed before treatment starts.
05How many sessions will I need?
This depends on the objective, area and response. There is no single number suitable for all patients. We agree a plan and review progress rather than decide sessions automatically.
06Could it help with jaw discomfort?
It may be considered as support in selected cases, but we first need to assess the cause of the discomfort. It is not a cure for tooth grinding and does not replace other care that may be indicated.
07Why is protective eyewear used?
Eye protection is part of the safety measures during laser application. Suitable protective eyewear is used by the patient and others present while the device is active.
08Should I mention my medicines or a pregnancy?
Yes. We need to know about your health and medication. Tell us beforehand if you are pregnant: the device instructions advise against photobiomodulation during pregnancy, so alternatives need to be considered.
09Is faster recovery guaranteed?
No. Progress depends on the problem, procedure and individual. If laser use is proposed as support, we explain its purpose without guaranteeing faster recovery or a particular result.
10Can I know the cost beforehand?
Yes. After assessing you, we explain whether laser use is part of the proposal, what the treatment includes and its cost. You can ask questions before deciding.
